FAQ'S
What to expect when going to a dispensary for the first time?
One of the most common things we hear from first-time visitors is that they had no idea what to expect when stepping into a dispensary. It can feel a bit intimidating at first, but the experience is usually smooth and welcoming. When you arrive, you'll need to show a valid ID at the front desk—typically, dispensaries only allow entry to adults over 21 or medical patients over 18. Once inside, a staff member, often called a budtender, will be available to guide you. They're knowledgeable, approachable, and happy to answer any questions you might have, whether you're completely new to cannabis or just exploring new options. Green Gold Group accepts debit cards and cash, and all locations have ATMs on-site if you need it. Just take your time, ask questions, and don’t feel pressured to buy anything right away. The goal is to make sure you feel comfortable and informed about your choices.
What ID do I need to enter a dispensary?
Once you step inside our reception area, you'll need to show us a valid state or government-issued photo ID — such as a driver's license, ID card, or passport. If you're a medical patient or caregiver, please also provide your MA-issued Medical Program card. We do not accept out-of-state medical cards for the medical program, but you're welcome to shop as a recreational consumer. This is not just a dispensary policy—it is a legal requirement. One of our friendly staff members will verify your ID(s) and buzz you into the sales floor to pick up your online order or place an order with a Budtender.
What does a Budtender do?
If you’re new to cannabis, figuring out which products are right for you can be overwhelming – especially if you’re going to a dispensary for the first time. Our highly-trained and friendly Budtenders are here to help you navigate our extensive menu and find the best products to give you your perfect cannabis experience. When you enter the dispensary, you’ll be directed to the next available Budtender. This is your time to ask questions, explain what you’re looking to achieve with cannabis, and get recommendations from our team. We want you to feel happy with your purchase and leave confident in how to consume your products when you get home. We LOVE helping our customers navigate their own cannabis experience – so never be afraid to ask as many questions as you want.
How do I place an order?
Once you decide which cannabis products you’ll be taking home, your Budtender will pick your order and complete the transaction with you. If you’d prefer not to work with a Budtender, you can place your order online ahead of time. If you’ve placed an online order, it will be ready and waiting for you, but you can also still ask questions and make changes to your order needed. Unfortunately, dispensaries are unable to accept credit cards, so don’t forget your debit card (we have an ATM on site) or cash.

What are the different ways to consume cannabis?
You may have heard the phrase, “start low and go slow” when it comes to cannabis. That’s because everyone’s body responds differently, and it’s smart to ease into finding the right dose and method for you.
There are several ways to consume cannabis, and each affects your body differently. Here's a breakdown of common methods:
Smoking: The most traditional method. Effects are usually felt within minutes and can last 1–3 hours.
Vaping: Similar to smoking but often considered smoother. Vaping heats cannabis without burning it, and effects kick in quickly.
Ediblies: These are food items infused with cannabis (like gummies or baked goods). They take 30–90 minutes to kick in and can last 4–8 hours or more.
Topicals: Creams or balms applied to the skin for localized relief—non-psychoactive, meaning they won't get you high.
Capsules: Similar to edibles in effect, but offer consistent dosing in pill form.
Whichever method you choose, start with a low dose and give yourself time to feel the effects before consuming more.
What are the common methods of inhalation?
Onset: 1–5 Minutes
Peak Effect: 5–15 Minutes
Duration: 1–4 Hours
Smoking or vaporizing cannabis has the fastest onset time compared to other ways to consume cannabis, such as ingestion or sublingual methods. Start by taking one hit from a vaporizer or from a pipe if using combustion. Slowly inhale, taking a somewhat deep breath in, then exhale.
Inhalation can be done using either combustion or vaporization of raw cannabis. Combustion refers to cannabis that is smoked using an open flame to burn the cannabis and activate the THCa by converting it to THC, like smoking from a bowl or glass pipe. Vaporization refers to cannabis that is heated to the necessary temperature to decarboxylate the THCa and convert it to THC, like smoking from a “weed pen” (usually a 510 vape cartridge).
Each time you inhale, approximately 2–5mg of THC is consumed per inhalation, but this will vary based on the strain, potency, and the device that’s being used to consume which can also make it hard to precisely dose. Start by taking a puff or two and waiting 10-15 minutes before consuming more. Remember – start low and go slow!
What does ingesting cannabis mean?
Onset: 30-120 Minutes
Peak Effect: 1-5 Hours
Duration: 3-8 Hours
Infused edibles have a longer onset period, usually between 30–120 minutes, because they have to go through your digestive system before kicking in. The effects from edibles also last longer with some lasting up to 8 hours for some consumers.
Infused beverages are reported to have a faster onset period than edibles with a similar duration, as do “nano” edibles which are growing in popularity. These types of edibles use nano-emulsion technology to help your body absorb the THC faster, producing a much quicker onset time and removing a lot of the guesswork for edibles newbies.
Regardless of the type of edible, its effects will vary based on the food or drinks you have consumed prior to ingesting an infused edible or beverage, as well as your individual tolerance, metabolism and body fat content.
If you are using ingestion as a way to consume cannabis, it is recommended that you begin with a low cannabis dosage, consume 2.5 to 5mg and wait for the proper onset time before ingesting more.
What types of cannabis products are used sublingually?
Onset: 15-30 Minutes
Peak Effect: 35-50 Minutes
Duration: 2-7 Hours
Tinctures, lozenges, mints, and various infused edibles can be absorbed under the tongue, or sublingually. Sublinguals have a mid-ranged onset period, usually between 15–30 minutes, and often have a similar duration as edibles.
This way of consuming cannabis allows some compounds to enter the bloodstream that might otherwise be broken down by digestive processes, which provides different effects that onset more quickly. The effects will also vary based on your individual tolerance. It is recommended that you begin by consuming 2.5 to 5mg and wait for the proper onset time before ingesting any more cannabis.
How Cannabis Can Enhance Your Life?
Adult use cannabis, also known as recreational cannabis, can provide various benefits to individuals in addition to therapeutic purposes. Here are some ways in which adult use cannabis can help people:
Relaxation and Stress Reduction: Cannabis can act as a means of relaxation and stress relief for adults. It can help individuals unwind after a long day, promote a sense of calmness, and alleviate symptoms of stress or anxiety.
Socialization and Bonding: Cannabis can be enjoyed in social settings, bringing people together and fostering connections. It can serve as a recreational activity that promotes social bonding, shared experiences, and a sense of community among adults.
Enhanced Mood and Enjoyment: Cannabis has the potential to elevate mood and enhance enjoyment. It can heighten sensory experiences, making activities such as listening to music, watching movies, or engaging in creative pursuits more pleasurable and engaging.
Creativity and Inspiration: Some individuals find that cannabis can stimulate creativity and provide new perspectives. It may help unlock novel ideas, boost imagination, and encourage out-of-the-box thinking, making it valuable for artists, writers, and individuals seeking creative inspiration.
Recreational Alternative: Adult use cannabis can serve as a recreational alternative for those who prefer it over other substances like alcohol or tobacco. It offers an alternative option for relaxation and enjoyment, potentially reducing the risks associated with excessive alcohol consumption or smoking.
It's important to note that responsible and informed consumption is key.
Understanding legal regulations, using cannabis in moderation, and being aware of individual tolerance levels are essential for ensuring a safe and positive experience with adult use cannabis.
